This Iron distance course is tough. It lulls you into a false sense of complacency and then slaps you in the face hard.
This wind trainer bike workout consists of two parts. The first is a not so
challenging ride through the outskirts of the city of St. George. There are some inclines but nothing worth mentioning and on a clear day the temperature is nice for riding. It’s when you get to the double looped portion of the course that you will find the real challenge.
As you leave the outskirts you will notice a definite change in the road surface. It won’t be that much of a challenge on the first loop but the second time around your gonna be cursing it, especially if the desert temperature gets into the 100’s.
The scenery is beautiful with lots of rolling hills and one good short but steep climb. Once you reach the highway on the second lap you can count on a down hill run to the finish. Pray the wind is blowing in the right direction.
