How much does it cost to build a business website?
Our site packages are designed specifically for small to medium-sized businesses. They vary according to size, complexity and client requirements, and like our customized website designs, no website estimate we provide is ever exactly the same. That said, we’ll tell you what a website will cost without any hidden fees, AND, with our affordable pricing policy we’re certain we can work within your budget!

Simply Effective will meet with you face-to-face or arrange a phone consultation to discuss your website ideas and preferences. Based on our initial meeting we will prepare to build your professionally designed, custom website together. It will reflect your unique business, and the audience you want to attract, and will be designed to fit your budget.
Simply Effective will do the preliminary footwork necessary to produce a sample site proposal (aka a mock up!) in WordPress CMS (Content Management System). This will provide a preliminary view of how your website will take shape, i.e., layout, colours, functionality options, to name a few.
Based on your specifications, your site design will be customized including a unique header/banner with your business name, client-supplied logo, trademarks, (preferred) images, and tagline/slogan, and contact info based on your input.
Simply Effective will customize a one-, two- or three-column (or combination) page layout dependent on your site requirements and client preferences.
Simply Effective will create a customized site navigation menu – horizontal & vertical (if applicable) to facilitate easy flow from page to page.
Client-supplied text content & graphics integration (separate fee structure if text/copy development is required). Internal links will be added to pertinent interior pages to facilitate flow. External links will be added to add content and resource substance to your site's visitor experience.
Simply Effective will add a custom gallery of client-supplied photos to your website to showcase your business.
Simply Effective will add pertinent WordPress plugins and widgets to enhance the functionality of your site based on your unique/specific requirements and client preferences.
A Blog/News page will be integrated directly into your website upon request. (Please note that a separate contract will be negotiated for your blog posts if you prefer not to do the copy writing yourself. Weekly posts will be based on content/images provided, written around your products and services offered, or any company events or activities you'd like to feature.)
Links and icons for Facebook, Google+, X, LinkedIn, YouTube according to desired platforms
(Please note that a separate contract will be negotiated for the creation of social media pages including setting your social media pages up – with design-to-match branding, that is, to match your website!)
Your footer will be a customized section at the bottom of your website, which can incorporate text, images, links, downloads, contact information, +/or copyright information.
Simply Effective will add basic title/meta description tags for search engine optimization.
)Please note that WordPress comes ready to embrace search engines. Its features and functions guide a search engine through the pages, posts and categories to help the search engine crawl your site from page to page and gather the information it needs to include your site within its database. We do basic SEO on every site we build, writing specific meta tags based on site content – title & descriptions – appropriate coding such as ALT attributes and link titles. If a client has more advanced SEO requirements, we will recommend dedicated SEO professionals).
In addition to creating your site, Simply Effective will arrange and manage all your domain name and hosting set-up details from registering your custom web name and matching e-mail addresses, to securing space and publishing your site with your web host if you need assistance with this aspect of setting up your web site,
Simply Effective will provide basic textual changes/adjustments free of charge up to 10 days after site launch. For ongoing site maintenance see Separate Maintenance Contract below.
Simply Effective will provide one-time instruction for site maintenance/editing/plugin installation in WordPress upon site completion. For ongoing site maintenance see Separate Maintenance Contract below.
Tech support for the life of the website isn’t free! For ongoing site maintenance, including phone tech support, a separate contract will be negotiated.
Simply Effective will make adjustments at no charge for 10 days after website launch, but we stress to all WordPress website clients that the burden is on them to learn and understand the product they now own. Clients are shown how to back up their sites and databases, but it’s their responsibility to do so. If ongoing site maintenance/training (website changes/updates) is required, a separate maintenance contract - one-time, occasional, monthly - can be negotiated according to specific client requirements.
*Please note: the amount of training time necessary will vary with each individual. We charge an hourly rate for this service beyond the initial training provided in the basic package.
In addition, Simply Effective offers mobile phone app creation, Ecommerce shopping cart integration, social media management, and multimedia packages upon request. Because each client’s needs are so unique and vary according to size and scope, each mobile phone app, Ecommerce site, social media and multimedia project is subject to its own pricing. Time Frame
Because websites vary according to size and scope, each project has it’s own time frame. Most projects can be completed within a 30-day period – 20–25 business days!
For example, the approximate time frame for a WordPress site customization/installation for up to 25 pages can be completed in 20–25 business days, providing ALL pertinent site content (including text, images, Word docs/Pdfs, external links, including social media links, etc.) and account information (i.e., user names & passwords) is supplied and received from the client within the time frame/start date agreed upon.

Invoicing Policy
Once the project/proposal is agreed upon, the website package fee is split between two billings and is payable as follows:
- 50% invoiced upon concept approval and in advance of website creation
- 50% invoiced upon completion and publishing of website files to the net
Please Note: If a monthly service contract is arranged, the full contract fee is due on the 15th or 30th of each calendar month.
We accept cash, cheque, email transfer or payment online via PayPal, credit card via Square.
